Hi, my name is Stella and I have an offer to study Japanese at Selwyn College in October 2017.
I come from a state school that has literally never had anybody apply for Japanese. Ever. Never mind AMES at Cambridge! So that meant I had to look quite hard to find things out about what I’d be studying, who I’d be taught by and how to get in. I don’t think applying needs to be that hard though, so through this blog I hope to give people who wouldn’t otherwise consider AMES the opportunity to find out more about what is a pretty niche subject.
Obviously my experiences are primarily to do with Japanese, but in the future I hope to be able to ask my peers and get more information about other subjects too!
